One cannot take all the danger and risk out of life but one can reduce it. One can so order and regulate his life as to reduce danger. Some things are within one's control, or power, and some things are not. One can work with those things that are within his control to reduce risk. One can be cautious, prudent and safety minded. He can create for himself good habits, lifestyles and ways of doing things that will minimize risk. An example: Health. There is no guarantee that any one of us may not be taken with some terrible disease and either die from it or suffer the rest of our lives. That danger always exists. There is nothing we can do to totally insure ourselves against such a tragedy. But we can reduce the risk by habits of exercise, maintaining a proper weight, and taking care of our body. Feb 1992
