Just as some people live under the discipline of a diet as to what goes into their mouths I live under the discipline of a diet as to what goes into my mind. It is something I have been doing for a number of years now. I live on a strict diet as to what I will "eat" intellectually and spiritually. With strictness and severity I regulate all that goes in through my eyes and ears. I will "eat" no evil through eyes or ears. And, most of all I will accept no dirt or filth. At the first suggestion of the Indecent, Immoral or Off-color I disappear. If it is on a TV or radio program I either immediately turn the program off or leave. If it is in printed material I stay away from it. If it occurs in a group of people that go to coffee breaks together I don't go to coffee with them. When talking with people I expect them to keep their conversation on a decent level. If they don't I am embarrassed and uneasy, I don't go along with them, and I get out of there as quickly as possible. At the bottom it is all a diet, a voluntary discipline, applied to myself out of respect and reverence for God and his holy principles. Feb 1981 More from SolitaryRoad.com:
