Out of a whole band of wavelengths being broadcast a radio tuner picks out and listens to one particular wavelength and ignores all the rest. People are like radio tuners --- they pick out and listen to what they like, what appeals to them and goes along with their outlooks and philosophies on life, and ignore all the rest. Some people are on the wavelength of Honesty and Goodness and they pick out what is Honest, Good and Wholesome from all the many and diverse attitudes and ideas impinging upon them in this complicated modern age; pick out that, listen to it, and ignore all the rest. Other people are on the wavelength of Dishonesty and Badness and they pick out what is Dishonest, Bad, Lewd and Obscene and listen to that and ignore the rest. People are ruled by different spirits and they pick out and listen to that which pleases the spirit that is ruling them. Some people are ruled by spirits that love Honesty and Goodness. Other people are ruled by spirits that love Dishonesty and Badness. Each picks out and listens to those things which please his ruling spirit. We live in an age of great diversity. Floating around in the air is every possible value, attitude, idea, philosophy, mood, spirit and atmosphere, all in an infinitude of shades and degrees, and they all impinge upon us all. What we pick up, respond to, and dance to, depends on the spirit that is ruling us. Mar 1980 More from SolitaryRoad.com:
