The frustrating quest for spiritual truth

We live in a world of spiritual confusion. People can't find
the right way. Many seek it but can't find it. Why? Because
they are so surrounded by false ideas, false values, false
leaders that they don't know who to ask, who to trust, who they
can believe. There are so many signposts that point in so many
directions, that point down so many roads and paths, roads and
paths that always lead to nothing. Life has so many
attractions and allurements that turn out to be mirages and
illusions. Satan has so much power, has so clouded and
confused everything, placed so much clutter before your eyes
that you don't know which way to go. Anyone you turn to for
help or advice is as mixed up as you and gives you bad advice.
Spiritual truth is like a diamond hidden somewhere in mountains
of worthless dirt, gravel and debris. If you don't know where
to look for it how do you find it? Without help from the one
man in ten million who really does know its true location how
do you find it? It is a frustrating search. If you really
want to find it for yourself you can find it slowly through
years of search, quiet reflection, thought and reading the
right books. But if you want to find it quickly, I think I can
tell one where it is to be found. It is found in belief in God
and commitment to his ways; it is found in the right set of
values, attitudes and priorities in life; it is found in a life
of self-imposed discipline, quiet reflection, love of virtue,
simple living, honesty, integrity, morality and goodness; it is
found in shunning evil and foolishness.
