Where we are today is where our thoughts of yesterday and the day before have taken us. Hate and anger builds up a little at a time, day by day. We work ourselves into a state of anger or hatred by our thoughts. We talk ourselves into anger and hatred. What we are today is what our thoughts of yesterday and the day before have made us. We set ourselves against society initially; and then our anger and hatred against it becomes deeper and more entrenched with each passing angry, antagonistic thought. If we can talk ourselves into a state of inner anger and hatred can we also perhaps talk ourselves out of it if we want to, if we really try to? An inferiority complex starts out in a small way by self- consciousness over a weakness or a defeat. But then we work ourselves further and further into it by negative thinking --- by slanting everything we see against ourselves. The complex becomes more deeply entrenched with each passing negative thought. Thus we exaggerate it and blow it out of all proportion. If we talk ourselves into it, can we perhaps talk ourselves out of it? Nov 1977
