Satan, ruler of this world
I was just reading Government by Blackmail: Jeffrey Epstein, Trump’s Mentor and the Dark Secrets of the Reagan Era by Whitney Webb. The more I read articles by Whitney Webb, the gloomier my outlook on human nature becomes. It is really depressing to read her articles. Where is goodness and integrity in this world? Where are the people with principles and morals?
There are good people in this world. There are lots of them. But it seems like when you start reading about people who have ascended to positions of power in my country, they are all extremely corrupt. It is quite distressing and disturbing. What do you make of it? What does it tell us about this world we live in? What does it tell us about human nature?
What about MKUltra? How do you explain that sort of thing? What does it mean? What about the Holocaust in Nazi Germany? What does it tell us about human nature? What about all of the terrible things Joseph Stalin did?

Answer. Here are key Bible passages that describe Satan as the ruler (or god) of this world and explain his influence:

“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not…”
Paul openly calls Satan “the god of this world.”
2. “The prince of this world”
John 12:31 (KJV)
“Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.”

3. Satan’s authority over worldly kingdoms
Luke 4:5–6 (KJV)
“And the devil… shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world…
And the devil said… ‘All this power will I give thee… for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.’”
Jesus does not dispute Satan’s claim to authority.
4. “The whole world lies in the power of the evil one”
1 John 5:19 (KJV)
“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”
Modern translations explicitly say “the evil one.”
5. “The power of darkness”
Colossians 1:13 (KJV)
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.”
“Power of darkness” refers to Satan’s dominion.
6. “Prince of the power of the air”
Ephesians 2:2 (KJV)
“Wherein in time past ye walked… according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.”
