It is not just ability and natural advantage that determines success
Some people are bestowed by nature with many natural advantages. They are born into an educated, well-to-do family and endowed with good looks, natural abilities, talent, etc. Others are born into poor families and given by nature many lacks, handicaps and disadvantages. What I have noticed is that those who were born with many advantages often do poorly and those who were born with disadvantages may do well. Those who were given much often turn into the worse people and those who were given little may turn into the best people. The person who as a child showed all kinds of promise, learned very quickly, seemed very gifted, and was a favorite of his parents, turns into a highly dishonest adult, void of all morals, who would even rip off his own mother. The person who was given little becomes in life an honest, good, successful person. Thus how well we do in life is determined by a lot more than just the advantages we were born with. It is determined by the lessons we learn and what we do with what we have; by how well we resist the temptations, dangers, and pitfalls of life and how prudently we live life.
The socialists have the idea that man is basically good and that he is made bad by his environment. Well, that is not true. He is basically bad. He has a natural tendency toward sin and badness. A person becomes good by thought, reflection, understanding and self-discipline. It is personal enlightenment that makes one good. Right religion, obedience to God, makes one good.
