I confess to extreme ignorance
I confess to extreme ignorance of an entire genre of things that it seems that a great portion of my society (and I guess many societies) are very knowledgeable about. I am 79 years old and all my life I have been totally ignorant of an entire category of things that apparently much of my society knows a great deal about. What am I talking about? I am talking about all the many kinds of depraved, perverted sex practices that apparently a great many people know about and practice. How am I now learning about them? I am learning about them from Wikipedia and internet searches. I have heard of some of them such as oral and anal sex but am just now learning more details about them and a multitude of other sick sexual practices. To me these things are loathsome, outlandish, really disgusting. I certainly don’t understand how people could receive pleasure from them. I could understand that kind of pleasure as much as I could understand people getting a pleasure from eating their own excrement (or someone else’s). What is behind all of this? I would say Satan. In America it is all connected with liberalism, moral permissiveness, ideas, views, and values of modern psychiatry, and preoccupation with lust, sex, and carnal pleasure. I have been married for 52 years and my marriage has been a very happy one. I doubt that one marriage in a thousand, and probably not one in ten thousand, is as good as ours. And the quality of our marriage does not have its foundation in sex or physical pleasure. The quality of our marriage is based in spiritual things. It lies in the practice of the things that Jesus taught: kindness, goodness, moral purity, personal integrity, peacefulness, patience, etc. I am lucky. I am married to a decent, good, moral person.
America is sick. America has lost her way. All of this preoccupation with sex and carnal pleasure is destructive to marriage and marital and personal happiness. Pornography is destroying this country. Nothing good is going to come from it. Perverted sex practices are not going to give any real happiness. They are going to bring big social problems. In abandoning Christian values and outlooks, America is making a gigantic mistake. Liberals and liberal psychiatrists are leading the western world down a very bad path. And hellfire will be the end consequences.
