Gallop survey on American attitudes on various social issues
The following table shows American’s approval rate for various types of moral conduct for years 2001 and 2015 as determined by Gallop polls:
2001 2015
Gay/lesbian relations 40% 63%
Having a baby outside marriage 45 61
Sex between unmarried couples 53 68
Embryonic stem cell research 52 64
Physician assisted suicide 49 56
Abortion 42 45
In addition to this, only 5% of Americans now regard themselves as “very conservative” on the so-called ”social issues” (issues such as those above).
These statistics tell me just worlds about America today. They show the great moral deterioration that has occurred in just the last 15 years. They provide statistical confirmation for everything I have said on this website about America. America has lost its way. It is a Sodom and headed straight for hell.
Only 5% of people view themselves as very conservative on social issues. In today’s liberal America a real Christian (i.e a Bible-believing, God-fearing, God-loving, God-obeying Christian) is necessarily “very conservative”. What about all those people in America who regard themselves as Christian but who are outside that 5% “very conservative” group? Real Christians know the Bible, obey God, and reflect his values on these kinds of social issues. The majority of so-called Christians in this country have no concept of what real Christianity is. They are attuned to the wicked society around them, following in its ways, reflecting its outlooks. There are a whole lot of self-deceived, misled people in this country. They greatly deceive themselves if they think they are Christian.
The above statistics impress upon me the fact that I represent a very small minority in this country. The true Christian is part of a very small, select group in this world. I think of the words of Jesus:
John 15:18-21 If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.
