A little story told to me
My wife just related a story to me, told to her today by one of her coworkers. It concerned a previous worker at the shop, a young Korean girl who worked there as a manicurist in days before my wife worked there. The lady telling the story said she was a very beautiful girl and a very nice person. She described her as very beautiful, beautiful both inside and outside. Everyone liked her. The girl was married with two young boys. The lunches that she brought to work seemed skimpy and she said she suspected that they didn’t have much money and she often shared her food with her. Well, one day the girl went home from work early and discovered her husband in bed with her best friend. She was distraught, didn’t know what to do and called her mother in Korea and told her about it. Her mother advised her to divorce her husband, come back to Korea, and leave her boys with her husband. She followed her mother’s advice. On the last day before her plane trip back, she washed the hair of all her coworkers in the shop. When she got back to Korea, she took an elevator to the top of a twelve story luxury hotel and jumped out a window. A brother over there called the shop and told them what had happened. The lady telling my wife the story was crying a good deal of the time while she was relating the story.
We live in a world that is very casual about extramarital sex. Everyone does it. No one wants to miss out on the fun. No one is hurt, right? Especially if they don’t know about it. It is just a game in not getting caught.
