Modern Christianity has gone far astray from the true
Christianity of the Bible. How? In the following ways:
HELL. The Bible is clear about the fact of a hell. It is
unequivocal about the existence of hell and is very specific
in its description of hell. Modern Christianity has lost
its belief in a real hell. Some may say they believe in it
but still they hardly do. Preachers don't preach it and
people don't talk about it. The idea of eternal damnation
is of key, fundamental importance in Christian theology
(along with the concepts of sin and Good and Evil). If you
delete the concept of hell you delete a key part of the
underlying structure.
GOD IS LOVE. Much of modern Christianity believes God is all
love, compassion, mercy and tolerance. This is at variance
with biblical teaching. The Bible presents God as
compassionate, forgiving and loving toward those righteous
few who love and serve him. And he is a God that is
concerned about the lost but, nonetheless, holding a hell
and eternal damnation in reserve for those who go the way of
sin and immorality. The God of the Bible is a strict God
who will not tolerate or accept sin.
SATAN. Modern Christianity doesn't believe in Satan, mostly.
Some may, but probably only in a theoretical way, because
they know the Bible says he exists.
THE SUPERNATURAL. Much of modern Christianity doesn't believe
in miracles and the supernatural.
