Q. What is my idea of the ideal wife? What traits and characteristics would be important to me if I were shopping for a wife? A. I would list the following traits and characteristics: - physical attractiveness (face and figure) - nice personality, easy to get along with, nice disposition - decency in speech, manner and dress (i.e. modesty) - femininity, ladylikeness - goodness, virtue, character, morality - honesty, trustworthiness, dependability - emotional stability and balance - intelligence - good personal habits (non-drinker, non-smoker) - thriftiness, frugality (not a spendthrift) - naturalness, sincerity - politeness, courtesy, good manners - kindness, warmth, thoughtfulness, concern for others - unselfishness; being self-denying, self-sacrificing - reasonableness, fairmindedness - absence of malice, bitterness, jealousy, envy - good sense, good judgment - self-confidence, poise Q. The perfect wife that one might envision in his imagination and the wife what one ends up with are likely to be two different things. One's wife is likely to have a few shortcomings. What shortcomings in a wife do I think I would have the most difficulty in accepting? A.
