Certain personality traits are often considered to be masculine and others feminine. Traits such as aggressiveness, competitiveness, ambition and dominance are often regarded as masculine while traits such as kindness, sympathy, and pity are regarded as feminine. Doesn't this represent a confused sense of values? Personally I have always detested aggressiveness and tendencies to dominate in anyone, man or woman; and I renounced competitiveness and ambition in myself when I was young, shortly after finishing college. Does this make me feminine? If so let me ask the following questions: Aren't the feminine personality traits morally and intellectually superior to the masculine ones? Doesn't the Bible teach kindness, sympathy and concern for our fellow man? Aren't the feminine personality traits in conformity with the moral teachings of the Bible and the masculine traits in opposition to it? If someone thinks that a man ought to be "manly" and have the masculine personality traits such as aggressiveness, competitiveness, ambition, etc. then I think that person's values are very confused and mixed up. A man can have all of the so-called feminine personality traits and still be very much a man. Nov 1986 More from SolitaryRoad.com:
