Just as a disease is transmitted from one person to another attitudes, sentiments and outlooks are also transmitted from one person to another. They are transmitted in a home from parents to children; they are transmitted in a pulpit from preacher to congregation. These attitudes may be healthy ones redounding to spiritual health or they may be pernicious, poisoning and destroying all they touch. People are like sheep; they are followers; and they have a tendency to pick up attitudes, sentiments, etc. from those about them. Suspicion begets suspicion, anger begets anger, warmth begets warmth, fear begets fear, malice begets malice, disrespect begets disrespect, kindness begets kindness, trust begets trust, respect begets respect.
